AI for Teaching Staff

This page brings together tools and resources designed to support you as a member of the teaching staff in navigating the use of AI in teaching and learning. It aims to help you engage in meaningful dialogue with students about the use of AI and provide guidance on any AI-related questions they may have.

Here you can find the outputs of the AI in Education working group, established by the Strategic Education Council (DSUR) to strengthen collaboration and coordination across the units at Aalborg University that support the use of AI in education.

A range of initiatives is currently underway, and this page will therefore be continuously expanded with additional resources and materials to support teaching staff in addressing AI in teaching and learning.

AI in your studies – new overview page that can help students (and teaching staff)

The new overview page, students.aau.dk/AI, brings together relevant information on the use of AI in education and is primarily aimed at AAU students. At the same time, it provides teaching staff and other staff members with insight into the information being communicated to students regarding the regulations, frameworks, and good practices for the use of generative AI.

The purpose of the "AI in your studies" page is to address the uncertainty many students experience when using generative AI as part of their studies. Both the content and structure of the site are informed by findings from a study of students’ and educators’ experiences with generative AI at AAU, conducted between November and December 2025. For example, the FAQ section has been developed directly on the basis of insights from this study.

The new resource hub will be promoted to students from September onwards and is intended to help them find answers to many of the questions they may have, while also providing reassurance and inspiration for the responsible use of AI. We also hope that, as an educator, you will find that the site addresses many of the questions your students may raise. You are therefore very welcome to encourage your students to visit the website.

Introducing Generative AI for Students

How can generative AI be meaningfully introduced to students in a study and learning context? This is a challenge faced by many educators and supervisors across the university. To support this effort, AAU has developed a shared slide deck and video package that educators and supervisors can use as a foundation when introducing students to the use of generative AI.

The materials provide a common point of departure for discussions about the opportunities, limitations, and responsible use of generative AI in an academic setting, helping to create a consistent understanding across programmes and courses.

Continuous development and updating of the pages in an AI race

The development of AI is fast – very fast – and therefore knowledge about AI, the framework for sensible use and rules change very quickly. The pages will therefore be continuously developed and updated, but may still in a very short time contain content seen as incomplete. Unfortunately, the pages do not always provide answers to everything related to AI, but they are a starting point for further work in the effort to help both students and teachers in the best possible way.

Input and questions for the AI pages
